I genuinely just wanna go back to work. I have enjoyed spending time at home for sure, but being at home and not having anything to do all day every day is just becoming seriously dull. Like it's nice to see Kira of course, I love seeing her, but when the routine is just:
Wake up, eat, use computer, possibly drive somewhere, go home, use computer again, eat, (housework?), sleep.
It genuinely just becomes dull. I did a playtest for a map today, a map that is de_coldwar. It was alright thought it had a lot of issues such as headshot angles, long long sightlines, CTs having far too much map control and very few options for Ts. Below is an overview of the contact points and map control for the map:
Though it was fun, it did have the issues as I mentioned. The map maker seemed very happy to receive all the feedback which I love to see. It shows that he can take criticism and actually do something about it. Some people see criticism as attacking someone's work which it usually isn't the case. Sometimes you have to be a bit harsh and I did hear some people call parts of the map "boring" which I personally wouldn't have used. But looking back, yeah some parts are genuinely boring or uninspired (as I would have said).
But all in all, I'm glad that the playtesting scene is still active. They have maps every other day to join, you just have to be the first there so you don't have to schedule yourself to join the playtest. Also it appears to be just 5v5 which is great for testing competitive viability, compared to 6 years ago when my map got playtested it was like a casual server with 12v12 or something like that.
I'll be submitting my map at some point to get looked at. I believe it has a good chance at playing well. I know I should be biting my tongue at that statement, but I do genuinely feel it will be better than my previous attempts at defuse maps.
