Now, this was a project I was very proud of. I still am to a degree, though I feel I have outlived it. I went back to the basics, making 5 concise and dense tracks that I worked on. I wanted a dark theme, so I made the album cover really creepy looking and added Japanese text because... why not.
This album proved to me that it was quality over quantity. I made 5 tracks that were vastly superior to almost every single track from Enhance. Not because they were technically better produced, but because they just sounded more interesting and definitely sounded more unique.
I don't have much to say about this really. I drew heavy inspiration with the piano from Joji's ATTENTION from Ballads 1 on the opening track "ANTICIPATION", even using another word beginning with "A" (though I don't think it was intentional). They are all gritty, dark songs that I still kind of like to this day. Although, like I said, I think I have outlived the production of this album. It is not perfect by any means. The mastering is still off but I like the project.
The outlier is "RESOLUTION" which is just a hip-hop instrumental, but I really like the plucked notes on it and thought it was one of my better hip-hop beats I had made.
The story behind "mr STILLA" is that me and Bayley had an ongoing joke about Luke looking like Mr Blobby because he had spots on his face (I know, really hilarious stuff...) and he said I should name the album Mr Blobby, which I was actually going to do. I think there was some mistake as I thought "Stilla" meant "Blobby" in Latin, or maybe it's in a different language? The Japanese text on the album is correct, however. The top reads "Michael" and the bottom reads "Mr Blob", so at least I got that right.
