This is quite an old game that I started work on around 2019. After I finished Big Duck, I wanted more. I loved Big Duck, obviously, but I wanted to make another platformer that was bigger, better and more fun. Big Duck was quite primitive and there wasn't a whole lot going on in the grand scheme of things.
So, The Cockman. Hilarious title, I know. Why that title? Well you play as a cockroach of course, hence "Cockman". You're equipped with a gun that shoots explosive bullets and you need to blow up crates and walls to get money. Get enough money and you can buy more bullets and new equipment! X ray vision, remote grenade launchers, you name it! And to finish levels you need to collect all the chips to open a portal to escape... or something.
Story wise, there really wasn't any story to this. Big Duck had a story of course. Lots of enemies and the duck wanted to find out who was behind it, of course it was "big duck" himself (a swan). So he killed him. But The Cockman has no story unfortunately. But understandably so I guess since the game was never finished. I likely would have added an ending of some sorts that explained the entire point of a cockroach with a gun killing spiders and warping through portals, but you can only do so much I guess.
There is a fair amount of content in this which is nice, and it also introduced me to gambling! Very primitive gambling I will add. It's just keys you pick up and you can open cases in the shop to get either bullets, money, more keys or nothing at all.
