Here we get to a project that I am still proud of to this day. It's one of the best albums I ever made I think, and it's because I took what I learned from Illegal Melodies and just made a longer, better album. It is officially a sequel to Illegal Melodies, keeping the two word naming scheme.
My favourite part about this album isn't even the music, it's the album cover. I absolutely love what I made and it is directly inspired by the original Eternal Atake album cover Lil Uzi Vert dropped (which he couldn't use which annoyed me, I thought it was amazing). It's so colourful and I spent a long time making it, compared to 19 which was a damn picture of a spider in a cup in my friends back yard, or Enhance which was a fucking squiggle. Yeah, this was the album that really made me think more about my album covers.
So, the music on this album. It is still good I think! It has that same charm that Illegal Melodies had and it is more polished, more layeres and just more fun. I had a blast working on this one and it brought back the exact feeling I had when I made Illegal Melodies. A thrilling, exciting feeling when your notes line up perfectly and it all just sounds right.
And, it's not bloated! After years (2 years) of making bloated albums, this one finally fit the right amount of tracks while keeping the songs interesting enough to stand on their own. There is only one outlier which is "Frozen Action", ironically this song is quite frozen. It's the least interesting on the album and is also the longest. A few interesting facts about some tracks:
The song "Bats" was inspired by yet another idea from 3kliksphilip. In an old old video on Youtube, he commentated over him making a game called Bat Sweeper. He sampled a set of notes that made a melody and just said that anyone could use that note pattern to make a song if they wanted to because he couldn't fit it into a full song. So I did it... about 12 years later.
A couple of the songs on this album actually made it into my game Big Duck, specifically "Progress", "Tunnel Rush", "War in Utopia" and a track from Enhanced (weirdly enough) which was one of the Bastelarbeit songs.
The track "Settlement" is a remake of "RESOLUTION" from my mr STILLA EP because I loved that track so much. I fixed up the mix a bit, added a better intro and I believe an outro? Regardless, this version is better than the original.
Overall, still very happy with this project. It was one of my favourites to actually make since, like I said, I returned to making music just for myself on this one.
