This isn't a conventional album per say. It is an album I always wanted to make but just never got around to actually making. It is essentially a horror album with no real music theory at all. It is almost like an ambient album, however some cuts on here are a bit harsh to be labelled "ambient".
So, why did I make this? Postal 1. In fact, the album cover is directly inspired by the Postal 1 splash screens before you enter a level. The cover and the music is meant to capture that insane psychosis level of horror that did a great job in the original OST of Postal 1. I'm not proud of the cover though. It looks great, yeah, and it fits the album perfectly. But it is AI generated unfortunately. Well, parts of it is. I basically asked ChatGPT to generate images inspired by the splash screens and I pieced four or five prompts together into one cover. So I didn't fully BS it, but it isn't exactly ORIGINAL either.
Now, I had a project I worked on years ago, I think around 2020 maybe? It was an album similar to this and it revolved around a story of these underwater war soldiers on an unknown planet. There was underwater gunfire, vehicles whizzing by, the sounds of gurgling as his soldiers got killed, and a terrifying unknown force was phasing soldiers out of existence. The last two tracks, "Flooded" and "Ending" were directly from this unreleased project of mine.
I really might finish that project one day. I didn't because near the end there was just too much "loud" sounds that I added and I didn't like it.
But anyway, this album didn't take too long to make, but I still like the sound of it. I even added my own voice on this with the track "Enstranglement", but you could never tell it was me since it's so distorted and pitched down. There is a "story" to this album too, though it's not the underwater warzone that I depicted in the original concept.
Basically it's about someone having a psychosis. Their intrusive thoughts remain Dorment until they Intrude. Then they go through their Psychosis and become Enstrangled by it. The Mind Disease takes over and Decay starts to set in. Death approaches as they are Flooded with death. Then the Ending is where they properly die, ending with some heavenly synth pads. So yeah, I tend to name albums almost like hinting at a chronological timeline of events. Same with Weirdcore Valley and DESTROYER OF ALL UNIVERSES. I think it just adds more to the album rather than just naming them whatever. It's an album, it's SUPPOSED to be listened to from front to back, the same way a movie is split up into chapters, you don't just put a movie on and skip to the end, do you? I mean you might. I won't rant here, that's for the log section!
