I've finally ported the map over to Source 2! From now on, I will have to learn the workflow that comes with the Source 2 Hammer. I have actually started to get used to using meshes instead of brushes. Obviously brushes will still be more intuitive, but hopefully with time I will adjust to using faces, edges and just meshes in general. I actually sometimes like the precision that they give you by adjusting specific faces. I managed to adjust some doorframes rather easily. Granted, they were perfectly on the grid (unlike most doorways that are at an angle), but it's neat! One gripe I have is decals. The process is just a bit more fiddly for simple wall decals. However, for more complex brushes it seems like it will be more handy. In Source 1, you could just right click and apply a decal to any brush easily, then drag the edges to adjust the scale. It'll be a workflow adjustment for sure, but it does work still. It's not massively fussy but yeah, it'd benefit from a just "apply to surface" option because in Source 2 you have to drag a box and then manually place it on the wall.
I start work at 8 AM tomorrow (for all of this week), hopefully it will be a nice change!
