Yesterday I managed to drive all the way to Kira's house. It took quite a while to get there because I left at about 4:30 PM, meaning rush hour was steadily approaching. Along the A19 there was a fair bit of traffic build up, meaning it was a bit of start stop traffic. We all know we love start stop traffic! Then along the A1 there was a crash on the other side of the road. Not on my side, but the other side. Everyone along my side of the road actually slowed down just to look at the crash, meaning once I had passed the crash, the traffic sped up as if nothing happened. My mom said this is called rubber necking where people deliberately slow down to look at something. It was really silly actually because it's basically a traffic jam but the reason is that people were just curious, not that there was an actual jam! Quite funny though. Then, after I crossed the river, I got very lost. I missed like 3 or 4 turns in total after crossing. I nearly fucked up on a roundabout, being in the left lane trying to go all the way around and a van nearly went into the side of me. But I corrected myself very fast as I realised what was going to happen. I needed to go all the way around the roundabout because I already missed a turn beforehand, due to being in the wrong lane. Honestly, just being in the wrong lanes on roads I don't know is scary. I really see why people don't like driving places that they haven't driven before. I always used to think to myself "well, you can drive right? So what's the issue?". But the issue is that even though they can drive, all road markings can be different in some ways. Some roundabouts have quirks, some T junctions aren't always the way they might be. So it always adds a bit of uncertainty to new roads.
Today, it has been very rainy and windy. I went to the shop at about 11 PM and took Kira to Starbucks because she was having a bit of a stressful time. I went to get a meal deal and then we went to get drinks at Starbucks. Then once we got back at the shop, as soon as I got out the car I dropped my latte which genuinely annoyed me. But I brushed it off. I went inside and started making my t-shirts that they ordered for me. I ordered 5 designs, all inspired by the new Psycho Patrol R merchandise. I paid £10 each, so £50 total. Bear in mind that the actual merch is £50 PER t-shirt. I'm sorry Ville but I do not have the funds for that. So instead, becuase Kira's shop makes clothing prints, I just designed them myself and had them make it. £10 per t-shirt and they came out SO GOOD! I actually printed them myself, prepping the t-shirts with lint roller, ironing them, and using the press machine which gets very hot and prints the designs onto the t-shirt. It was a great experience as I'd never printed t-shirts before. It's a shame that you can't wash the t-shirts on high heat (just because the print might come off), but honestly I only ever wash clothes on 30 degrees anyway so it's not much of an issue.
Kira made me this amazing t-shirt which I giggled at. It's for our two year anniversary because she is going to Poland next week and we won't be together on our 2 year. It's a t-shirt with her face on it and on the back it reads "Best girlfriend ever! Happy 2 years!" which I find cute, amazing, and hilarious! Like SHE is the one saying she's the best girlfriend ever, which she absolutely is, I just love the confidence. But yeah, just having a t-shirt with her friggin face on the front of it just is both funny and amazing. The picture of her face actually matches the black shirt really well because the colours are muted and dark ish.
Also, while standing around in the shop, I got really sick of the 15 second piano loop that they had playing on their speaker. They can't use any actual music because they need a license, and most royalty free music either sucks or you still need to ask permission since they're typically made for content creation, not public performances (which is what playing music in a shop is classified as). So, I sat down and made a song for the shop. It is 17 minutes in total... a 17 minute song. I basically just created a whole bunch of patterns, 57 in total to be exact. So now they can play this tune on repeat and be completely free of any copyright or any restrictions because I made it and no one can tell them otherwise.
You can listen to it below if you really want to. A lot of it is filler because... well it's made to be played in the background of a shop.
