This map is annoying me. The viewport with GPU raytracing looks great, but when I do a "full compile" it looks shit in game. Why?? I think I need to add this cubemap style thing that you have to manually place in each friggin' corridor. I might actually not have made the huge lightmap block an entity, though I don't know if you actually have to make it an entity? Maybe you do. Today I'll add all these cubemap things as best as I can, hopefully fix the lightmap block and then recompile and see how it is. I will also enclose the map properly. I need to close it anyway and add grass, distant houses and stuff. Actually, I'll do that first. I'll add the grass fields, the distant road + houses first, that way I can properly seal the map. Actually I also need to check out these test maps that come with Hammer 2. They might point me in the right direction as to whether I should seal the map and what light entities they have. If their map is sealed, mine should be too. It's just because I was told that you didn't have to seal maps anymore, so I just left the map open to the void. But I guess for light bounces it doesn't make sense. I could also eventually deface all of the outer faces on the outside of the building which might help compile times a lot more, but not today.
