The Vision
The goal of this project is to make a sequel to my first released horror game Tunnel Rot.
I made a test track for the theme song. In all honesty, this I just wanted to utilise the sounds I paid for from the previous project, and I really love the experimental drums and sounds I use on this.
Today I did some slight painting adjustments. I added some very subtle body paint for shadowing and such. I also added red tips to his horns. I will need to go back over the body as it still is quite subtle.
The antagonist has been made! I have not named him yet though. But I've gave him some aggressive shoulders, long ass arms (which I'm not too sure about how long the arms are right now), I gave him some horns that point backwards which is inspired by Radical One from NFM. I am experimenting with glowing white eyes right now as well. Yep, no more painted on eyeballs! They are separate ico spheres that I've used for eyes. I did test with red glowing eyes, but it looked a bit cliché (as if the giant red bloody smile isn't cliché!). I have also experiemented with the pants, which I do think I want to keep, however I'm not sure about the brown boots. I might make the boots black eventually just because it looks a little cartoonish right now and not part of the rest of the colour pallet.
I decided to make a title for the game, and I'm quite happy with it. I want to keep the original text look with the black background and motion blur behind it in cursive font. However, I needed to indicate the "2" somewhere. I have a few iterations of the title, but I like the one with the unique looking "2", the drawn style, the most. I do like them all in a way, but I wanted it to feel a bit more distinctive and different from the first title, so that's why I went with a drawn style.
I also decided to try and model the main antagonist for the game. This game I will be spending a lot more time trying to make things properly instead of enthusiastically rushing things like I did for the first game (but that's merely because I was excited). This model will be one mesh primarily with a bone rig. It should also be easier to pose the character once I start making scenes.
Here was the base model that I made to work with. It is still going to be low poly just because I love low poly enemies and it matches the first game.
It is inspired by Knife still, but I couldn't just make Knife again. I wanted this one to be more long looking and tall essentially. The head shape is very similar to Knife's head, which is intentional. They are both representations of the same person in the lore.
But at the moment, this character is a little boring. Obviously, since there are little to no distinct features, no textures applied yet either.
To start this project, I drew some concept arts as to what the main antagonist of this game would be. I will say that I wasn't happy with this first concept, so I asked ChatGPT to give a better visual representation of it. It will be similar to Knife as that is intentional, however this was just a concept stage, getting an idea of how the antagonist might look.
