The Vision
The goal of this project is to make an underground dance album inspired by Cult Member mainly. I want to make an album that feels like unreleased / lost media and that has an exclusive feeling. Another aim is to turn it into a concept album with the theme around the club being a place of draining instead of a place of enjoyment.

Recap
I have worked on this album a lot, changing quite a few songs here and there. I spent a lot of time fixing transitions and
The changes include the following:
Underlit I have completely changed the main part of the song as I really disliked the melody and the preset used. I also added an extra section on the second half of the song.
Heavens Night I did a lot of mixing with as I felt that it was all off.
Override I included a section near the end of the song that I originally scrapped, but decided to leave it in on a second listen.
Dear Release got some mixing improvements.
Fluorescent Endurance had the loud section extended to give it more impact.
Sleepscape I added some more ambience to the dreamy section near the end.
I am still not 100% happy with Driftphase, but honestly I think that getting this album out the way is the best move here. I have worked on this album for over 7 months at this point, which is a bit overdue with how much time I like to dedicate to music projects. It has definitely been quite rough at points, but I'm glad I managed to finish this in the state that it's in.
A large jump in progress has happened, to the point where the album is finished. I have made a third interlude, titled "Sick" where the character we follow is being sick in a toilet. I also made two additional tracks for the album to conclude the story that I'm trying to get across.
Here is the track order and names of the tracks. I likely won't alter the album cover. I made it ages ago and I think it's fine as is. The track names, similar to how my "DESTROYER OF ALL UNIVERSES" and "Suffocation" albums are, are meant to represent different stages of the night.
The entire point of the album is that, for some, when you go to the club, you're usually suppressing something. You're using the club as an escape, not as something to just enjoy. That's the point of the interludes, the failed phone calls, the endless shots, and the inevitable vomiting in the toilet.
Yesterday I made a second interlude track where whoever we are following has a few drinks. I've also worked on another regular track for the album which is intentionally more moody, as the album is going to follow a sort of arc. The arc being that the club never actually gets rid of the problems you have in life.
I've made an intro track. Just a spur of the moment idea, I don't even remember where the idea came from. But the idea was to make a realistic sounding transition, as if you are someone entering an underground club. The whole album is underground club vibes, and I wanted to challenge myself to see how good I can make it sound like an actual experience. I think it turned out really well. I wasn't entirely sure how to end the track, so I had some pill sound effects before they enter the club and the song repeats itself and trails off until it fades out.
Actually I now remember why I did all of this. Because I made the song you hear but didn't quite know where to take it, or if it even fit the vibe of the album. I put a cut off really low, around 1k Hertz and it sounded like you were in the bathroom of a club. That's where the idea came from.
It has been a while, but I have been slowly working on this 8th track. I remember finding a hardstyle kick sample in a Yabujin sound pack literally called "NIGG@ KICK" or something like that. The name was funny with how explicit it was, but it actually sounded amazing. I just showed my friend it on Discord and that was it, until the other day where I decided to just use it in the song. A small section where it transitions into a hard distorted kick. The song still isn't finished, hence the demo prefix, but it is near completed in structure. I'm actually not sure if it fits the theme of this album, but honestly I don't mind it. I like it.
Yesterday and today I worked on a new track, being track 8. I did this a few days ago where I tried opening FL to put some notes down and see what happened but it didn't go anywhere. This track I do like though, though I'm not sure about the intro. I like the bells and the main section, but the intro sounds a bit too emotional? Regardless, this will work as a demo for now.
I worked on Track 6 after it was in limbo for quite some time. I just didn't quite know where to go with the drop. So, I layered it and changed up the melody from the previous version.
Track 7 I will say is finished. It is at the point where I don't really want to add any more to it with the risk that I might overdo it. I actually added more to the end of this track that will be below, but I realised it was just adding for the sake of adding, so I cut it out. It was going to go into another drop, but I thought no.
I have been listening to the Buckshot Roulette OST a lot lately, and the repetitive notes have been intoxicating. I thought it would sound boring, but it does work actually.
Today I opened up FL Studio and just tried to get something out. I have not had much motivation to work on this project for the past few months, but I tried today anyway. I heard a nostalgic sounding song on Instagram reels today and decided to try and make something similar. Not similar in notes, but in vibe.
To recap, as this project has been ongoing since the beginning of September, I currently have 6 tracks that are in the works. Track 1, 3 and 5 are essentially finished. Tracks 2, 4 and 6 are the tracks I still need to either fix up or consider adding them to the album. Track 4 I am almost certain won't be on the album as it doesn't fit the vibe I don't think. Track 6 is on the fence as there's a lot of stuff I like about it but again it is slightly off with the vibe.
It is a slow progress with the project, but this can happen sometimes with my projects, they may take quite some time to complete. But I shouldn't give up on it.
