Pretty fun weekend I've had! Me and Kira went to this Arniston Center which is near Durham. I describe it as like a Silverlink which is also a shopping center I live near. Thought this Arniston place has one thing that absolutely cripples Silverlink in every dimension. A CeX. Probably my favourite shop, althought I do prefer Cashies just a tiny bit more sometimes. We didn't quite know what to do on the Saturday, and I was going to go to this Arniston Center while she was at college one time, but I didn't. So, instead of going to the Metrocenter, we decided to go here instead... in the rain. Yep, it was raining ALL day! It wasn't very heavy rain, but you wouldn't have wanted to stand out in it for very long either.
We set off on our journey, walking quickly under the bus stop roofs to try and shelter from the rain. We made it to the bus stop we were meant to be at. This old lady said "Here comes the bus." and we got excited. Unfortunately, it was the wrong bus (the X73), but it was only about 5 minutes until the next one.
Then we got on the bus. This was when I realised that we'd need to walk about 30 minutes to the Arniston Center specifically in the rain. I knew it was a 30 min walk, but I forgot it was raining. Anyway, once we stopped at Stanley, I debated going out for a vape but I didn't.
Then, randomly, the bus stopped at a bus stop about two thirds of the way there. I was like "please god no...", the bus had to be stopped because the break warning light came on. I was so dissapointed honestly! But the bus driver said we could use our ticket to get on the next one... in 20 minutes. At least we had a bus stop shelter? But thankfully, she told us to come back on as it seemed to start working after about 5-10 minutes. We made it to the bus stop where we would get off at, and our 30 minute walk began.
Coats over our heads, shouting to try and hear eachother in the rain, it was stressful. But, we checked that a bus stop just 5 minutes up the road might take us to the Arniston Center. So, we made it there and the bus came through. I asked if they went through the Arniston Center and they said no, we needed to get another bus. I got off and checked where that bus actually headed and it was LITERALLY GOING PAST IT, it just wasn't going THROUGH it. As I was checking, another bus went past and that bus would have actually taken us to the place...
Kira was hangry at this point and hating life. Honestly, I was too. I was hungry as well. But eventually after another 20 minutes or so, the bus came and we made it to the Arniston Center where we went straight to McDonalds and ate next to a group of chavs. We went into CeX after and I spent a good while looking at PS2 and PS3 games, looking through every one. I picked up Dead or Alive 2, Genji, and some pinball game made by Ubisoft. After that we went to The Works where Kira picked up some paint pens and canvases.
Then, our luck arrived. Her mom said she'll pick us up! Fantastic! But, we would be going to the Metrocenter as they needed to get clothes for their holiday in a few weeks. Alright, I could handle it. But, on the way there I started getting a headache, and it did NOT calm down. It was just progressively getting worse. Around the Metrocenter, I managed to pick up some very cool jeans. They are barrelled jeans apparently and I love the shape of them. They're the first jeans I own that genuinely feel very baggy. I'm gonna have to get a lot more of these type!
Then we went home and while we were struggling to get out of the Metrocenter carpark, I learned some terrible news about my sisters friend. I won't go into lots of detail here, but I believe she was interested in this boy and he treat her horribly. Threatening suicide and blackmailing her. I felt like punching the little shithead, but that would solve nothing. She was really upset over it all and I kept telling her to try not put her energy into some dickhead boy who did that to her. That would just be letting him win. She loved a version of him that didn't exist unfortunately, and that's what she needs to start to think. We watched a horror movie called Terrifier which was very gore filled but not a great movie in my opinion. It was entertaining, sure, but narratively it was weak. I'm just glad my sister was okay again.
So, that was my weekend. I got home and bought a car! Yep, I actually found one! It's a blue Toyota Aygo from 2009, I think the exact same one my dad has, only mine is in blue whereas his is in black. I can't wait to drive it, and it's got good MOT history my mom says, and it's small so it'll be easy to park too. Also, these cars are very reliable as my mom owned one for years. So, I'm gonna have to go grab it! My mom said she'll pay part of it which is very kind of her. Here's a photo of the car:
And below is the PDF for the car check that I got after paying the deposit on Autotrader if you're interested. Hopefully, I won't have to look back on this and think it was a bad idea!
Like I said, I don't think there's much massively wrong with it? They obviously wouldn't be selling it otherwise. But I have heard about used car salesman ripping people off...
I made more of track 4 as well today! It sounds a whole lot better than the first version, where that version was literally just a melody demo, it had no proper structure. Now I've added a lot more structure to this and I think it's far far better and actually has the concept of what I wanted it to be. I changed the chord progression to sound less epic, as I stated last time that it sounded too epic.
It is still rough. The "drop" isn't finished at all because FL Studio told me to fuck off after I tried using Pitch Shifter. So, that isn't finished. The mix on the main part at the end isn't finished at all, too much low end with not much top. But, the concept is there.
